Over the years, WWE has continuously evolved it’s women’s division. One of the company’s most prolific female champions has to be Beth Phoenix. After a heavy drought of compact women’s wrestling, The Glamazon brought back esteem to this business.
Being classified as one among the great Divas Champion of all-time, she got inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017. This marked her as the youngest inductee inscribing the name in that honor. Since her retirement, Phoenix has wrestled in a number of matches for WWE.
The most recent one of them came earlier this year. She teamed up with her husband Edge to take on Miz and Maryse at the Royal Rumble. The Grit couple picked up the win and since then, The Diva of Doom has stayed away from the squared circle. Most recently, she was involved in a feud where The Judgment Day tormented Edge.
After all the bedlam that went down at Extreme Rules this year, both Edge and Beth went on hiatus. There’s no word on when these names would mark their return, but at least Edge can be expected soon. As far as her wife’s case goes, she revealed her thoughts on returning to the ring in a recent interview with Brandi Rhodes. In a brand new episode of Rhodes’ “2 Lies and 1 Truth” Podcast, the Glamazon laid down the roadmap.
“Who knows these days? [Beth laughed when asked if she’ll be back in a wrestling ring] You know, I say this every single time, it’s the most cliché thing but never say never or like, retirement in wrestling isn’t a thing, right? It’s embarrassing to say I’m retired because it’s never true.”

Beth Phoenix vs. Rhea Ripley should be the way to go
Last time we saw Beth Phoenix on WWE television, it was pure chaos. At Extreme Rules, Edge battled Finn Balor in an “I Quit” match. The ending saw Phoenix coming to the aid of her husband following distraction by The Judgment Day. At one point, Phoenix came face-to-face with Ripley, which garnered a massive crowd reaction.
Clearly the fans wanted them to go berserk, however, nothing significant happened there. At the end, Beth Phoenix received a brutal con-chair-to shot courtesy of The Eradicator, after Edge uttered “I Quit”. Despite promising the Rated Superstar to leave her wife off the jaws, the heels played their part and wiped-off The Glamazon.

Reports state that WWE is planning a massive Hell in a Cell match between “Brood” Edge and “Demon” Balor at Royal Rumble. This should be the culmination of their rivalry, however it’s uncertain whether this would ever lead to Phoenix vs. Ripley in the future.
