“It’s very sobering to hear that”- Big E is grateful after hearing that he will make a full recovery from his broken neck without a surgery
Big E flaunting his WWE Championship
Big E suffered a brutal neck surgery earlier this year on March 12th edition of Friday Night Smackdown after getting landed abruptly back on his neck following a Belly to Back suplex from Ridge Holland during a match on the ringside area. As soon as this happened, WWE officials ran towards E to check upon him and unfortunately nothing was okay with the former WWE Champion as was forced to stretchered out of the arena. It was later revealed that Big E had fractured his C1 and C6 vertebrae during the process.
The entire wrestling universe become worried about the unfortunate injury sustained by him and soon millions of wishes started to pour in expressing concern and get well soon messages. Initially it was believed that the injury might be as devastating as it could put a full stop on Big E’s wrestling career but thankfully it is not the case now as in a very positive update the New Day member had revealed that his doctors have told him to expect a full recovery from his broken neck without even requiring a surgery as revealed by E during an interview with ESPN.
He recently revealed what doctors have taught him about the catastrophic consequences this injury might have upon any individual.
“It could led to stroke, paralysis or death. It’s very sobering to hear that,” Big E said. “… I think to be great at something like [pro wrestling] or at least to be competent, you can’t spend all your time worrying about possibly fatal injuries or breaking your neck. You have to go out there and be free and in the moment. I think a lot of us as performers don’t spend a lot of time thinking about that stuff. I never thought I would be”.
Big E was on a defining run before getting injured
The Powerhouse of the New Day went on the mountain top last year when he successfully cashed-in his Money in the Bank contract over Bobby Lashley to become the WWE Champion for the first time ever in his career.
After that he had a brief feud with Drew McIntyre defeating him in a title match at Crown Jewel thus making his first successful defense as the WWE champion. He had a great champion vs. Champion match against Roman Reigns at Survivor Series in which he although fought valiantly, lost the match.
