When talking about iconic tag teams in recent times, the WWE Universe remembers one very big name, The New Day. 2 out of 3 members of the faction have been WWE Champions, Big E and Kofi Kingston have tasted singles gold, whereas Xavier Woods continues to amuse the fans with his amazing performances.

However, things took a turn for the worse. Big E, on March 12, 2022, suffered a serious neck injury. Ever since his injury, he has not been seen in the ring for a very long time. Over the past couple of years, reports have suggested that his retirement is coming closer. Recently, in an interview with Adam Wilbourn of WhatCulture Wrestling, Big E revealed that he might consider taking on announcer duties soon as his in-ring career seems very unlikely to start again.

I think about my time starting off in the company, by no means was I considered a good talker. It took time for me to get more comfortable and what not. For me to be able to stand beside Punk [CM Punk], Cole [Michael Cole], Pat [Pat McAfee], all these guys who are great and natural talkers was really great. I appreciate all the positive feedback. It’s something that I definitely would consider. I still want to be involved with the company, regardless of what happens with my in-ring career moving forward.

Big E reveals that he had suggested a new third member for The New Day

Ever since the former WWE Champion got injured, Kingston and Woods have been without a third member. It may seem like his presence is missed at times during various segments and matches. In the same interview, Big E spoke vividly about the possibility of adding another member in his absence.

Big E mentioned that he advised Kingston and Woods that The New Day should have one more member. However, the pair turned this proposal down. They said that they are getting old, and without him, The New Day doesn’t feel like its original self.

Both men further said that his voice at the start of their entrances gets the crowd rallied up. The stable recently completed 10 years of togetherness, and they don’t want to replace their brother at any point in their career.
