The latest edition of SmackDown kicked off with the return of The Rock Concert. The People’s Champion brought back a blast from the past and brutally mocked his rivals, Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. However, a few fans were abruptly forced to watch as the screen supposedly blacked out. Now, the alleged reason behind that has been revealed.
This apparently happened when The Rock was setting up the microphone for his musical performance. According to fans on social media, a female in the live audience flashed the camera, which caused the telecast to momentarily black out. It took 15 seconds before the normal feed was back on television. However, this is not the first time that WWE or FOX have intentionally blurred lines or blacked out the screen.
At Elimination Chamber, the rabid Perth crowd insulted Dominik Mysterio by showing the finger. As a result, the telecast had blacked out for a while. Meanwhile, on SmackDown, FOX has often bleeped out derogatory words and sentences. Therefore, it isn’t surprising to see what seemingly transpired during The Rock’s segment.
As expected, The Brahma Bull didn’t shy away from taking jabs at his WrestleMania opponents. In fact, the legend sent a message to Rhodes’ mother, claiming how he would ensure he wouldn’t walk away as champion. Needless to say, the self-proclaimed “Final Boss” made a huge statement on SmackDown yet again.
What else happened on the latest episode of SmackDown?
Following the enthralling opening segment, it was time for the first WrestleMania tag team match qualifier. Legado del Fantasma defeated their rivals, LWO, to qualify for the first bracket’s finals. Later, New Catch Republic got the better of Pretty Deadly to seal their spot against the Santos Escobar-led team.
As for the second-generation star, he ended up emerging victorious against Dragon Lee. However, his celebrations were halted by Rey Mysterio, who challenged him to a match next week. LA Knight finally addressed AJ Styles, making their WrestleMania bout official. Similarly, Jimmy Uso accepted his ‘little brother’, Jey Uso‘s challenge.
Meanwhile, Logan Paul found out he would be defending his US Title in a triple threat against Randy Orton and Kevin Owens at the Showcase of Immortals. In the main event, Iyo Sky and Damage CTRL stood tall after laying out Bayley and Naomi. Evidently, this episode had major implications for WrestleMania 40.
