It’s been a year since Randy Orton has been out of action due to some serious injuries. Orton has recently gone through back fusion surgery, so the timeline of his return is still uncertain. The rumors of The Viper’s return circulating lately do not seem optimistic for his fans. WWE Hall of Famer Bob Orton speaks about the potential return of Randy Orton in the near future.
The Apex Predator was last seen on WWE programming in May 2022, where he lost the Raw Tag Team titles to The Usos. Randy Orton was the Raw Tag Team Champion, along with Matt Riddle. Ever since then, the WWE Universe has been missing RK-Bro on WWE television. Besides, Riddle was also out of action for quite some time due to violating WWE’s wellness policy.
Bob Orton, father of Randy Orton, was also a WWE superstar during his time in the 1980s. While speaking with Bill Apter during an interview, Bob Orton revealed his son’s condition. He said that the doctors had forbidden Randy Orton to return to the wrestling ring, considering his situation. The WWE legend believes that Orton’s wrestling again could be detrimental to his body.
However, the WWE Hall of Famer did not rule out the possibility of a potential return for Randy Orton.“He’s training, so we’ll see what happens; I don’t know. […]I don’t think he needs to.” And I think the doctors have told him not to. But Randy will do what Randy wants to do,” he said. As a result, the news evoked sadness among the fans.
The WWE Universe has been waiting to see Randy Orton recover and come back to WWE. However, the news came like a bolt from the blue. This could even mean that Randy Orton might never return to action if the recovery is not satisfactory. But people are still hopeful to see The Viper back in action soon.
