The Nigerian Giant Omos does not have enough television time these days. However, he can be seen wrestling at WWE’s live events over the weekend. He has only made two televised appearances since May 2023, and that too at the major Big Five events, SummerSlam 2023 and Royal Rumble 2024. In a recent interview, Omos said he has set his goals for 2024 and now looks forward to a WrestleMania 40 match.
During an appearance on the Battleground Podcast, The Giant claims his yearly goal is always to be a part of WWE’s Super Bowl. Omos hopes to make it to Lincoln Financial Field this year and feel the honor of battling at The Grandest Stage of Them All. The 7’3″ star mentions that there is nothing like absorbing the atmosphere of an 80K to 100K fan-filled stadium and experiencing the grandeur.
The former Raw Tag Team Champ claims to have been working harder every day and feels excited about the Road to WrestleMania. He was also asked about facing Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania 38, which he circled back to now and thought of having that rematch in the coming times. His singles match at Mania have also seen him face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 39 Night 2, only to come out unsuccessful.
So hopefully I get to have a match at WrestleMania. That is always my goal every year to be on that card. Hey, man. I would love that rematch. I need my rematch, Bobby.Omos about being on WrestleMania 40 match card and facing Bobby Lashley
Omos regularly appeared on television until May 2023, wrestling against Seth Rollins at Backlash Puerto Rico. He keeps wrestling on WWE’s live shows against the likes of Akira Tozawa and R-Truth. His next two appearances had him participating in Slim Jim Battle Royal at SummerSlam 2023 in Detroit. The recent one happened in the Men’s Royal Rumble 2024 match, entering the match at Number 21.
WrestleMania holds a special place in Omos’ heart
While speaking with SEScoops, Omos mentioned the importance of WrestleMania in his career. The Nigerian Giant claims that The Shows of Shows has changed his life. On Night 1 of Mania 37, he made his televised in-ring debut alongside AJ Styles, winning the Raw Tag Team Championship from The New Day.
Omos states that he will never forget the moments he shared with Styles. A tag team run was followed by them breaking up to begin his singles run. The giant was unaware of how he would be booked in the coming times but then saw himself against Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania 38 Night 2.
"To be honest, WrestleMania literally changed my life. I made my debut at WrestleMania. You know, with AJ Styles and the tag team titles, I will never forget it for the rest of my life, like that is in my brain."Omos about the importance of WrestleMania
It just went higher the next year as he faced Brock Lesnar on Night 2 of WrestleMania 39. He has been quite an attraction for the WWE Universe over these years. However, 2023 was an irregular year for him, as his absence was felt around the latter half of the year with only two televised appearances.
