Booker T is one of the biggest names in WWE. He is known for his funny yet heroic nature. When WWE bought WCW back in 2001, Booker was one of the stars who rode along with the flow to the Stamford-based company. He achieved success by being a one-time WCW champion and “King of the Ring” winner.
The two-time Hall of Famer parted ways from WWE in 2007 and joined TNA, making his debut as a mystery partner for Sting. He had joined the Nashville-based company on a two-year contract. It was about testing his skills against newer talents and elevating TNA with his presence. But his plans were crushed, as he saw himself as nowhere near the stars.
Speaking on the Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T revealed that he is ashamed of his run in TNA. The Hall of Famer said that he had lost the zeal for performing the way he had planned. He stated that he was there just to entertain himself, and he made himself act like a fool. The former WWE superstar felt inferior before those young talents and decided to move on after those two contracted years.
The 2007 roster of TNA had several stars who came in from WWE, like Christian, Kurt Angle, Kevin Nash, Jeff Jarrett, Rikishi, and D-Von Dudley. On the other hand, some other stars were in the making for WWE such as AJ Styles, Bobby Roode, Austin Aries, and Xavier Woods. The WWE Universe later saw those wrestlers make their names in WWE.

Booker T opines on main roster stars coming to NXT

The return of Booker T in WWE saw him not get involved as a performer but as a commentator. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame by his brother in 2013, and the next time with his brother is in 2019. The 58-year-old has been an announcer at different WWE events and shows. He is currently working as a color commentator for NXT.
Speaking on the “Hall of Fame” podcast, Booker T stated that he likes the idea of bringing main-roster talent to NXT. The Hall of Famer said that the concept works and helps the new talents in NXT see who those main roster guys really are. Sharing a ring with them makes them understand their rawness. The trend started with Finn Balor doing it in 2019 and has been continuing.
The last few years have seen stars like Dolph Ziggler, Mandy Rose, and Charlotte Flair perform on NXT and win titles. It increases the passion among new talents and speeds up their developmental process. Recently, Baron Corbin and Mustafa Ali appeared on NXT and hinted at their possible matchups on the yellow brand.
