The Return of Brock Lesnar: The Beast Incarnate was in WWE cards even before the Vince McMahon scandal leaked
Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar on SummerSlam poster
The most recent episode of WWE‘s “SmackDown” ended with Brock Lesnar, or “The Beast Incarnate,” making a surprising comeback. Roman Reigns thwarted an RKO attempt in the last moments of the Undisputed WWE Universal Title fight between him and Riddle, then speared Riddle for the pinfall.
Brock Lesnar’s music began to play as Reigns rejoiced and declared that he had damaged everyone and that it was time for him to depart. He walked down to the ring and, at first, extended his hand to Reigns in what appeared to be a respectful gesture. As the event came to a close, Brock grabbed Roman up and gave him an F-5, followed by a pair of F-5s for The Usos.
Recently, fresh reports have come out that explain how another Brock vs. Roman tale came to be. It wasn’t in the initial plans for the next major Premium Live Event, “SummerSlam,” this time. The original plan for the main event was for Randy Orton to return and battle Roman at “SummerSlam” before Brock was booked for the night.
When was Brock Lesnar’s return planned?
The plan for Lesnar’s comeback began getting pace three weeks ago, according to sources, so while the investigation into Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis was still ongoing at the time, the decision to bring Brock back had already been taken long before the WSJ story was published. It’s thought that the decision to bring Lesnar back had nothing to do with the claims.
With the latest information on Randy indicating that ‘The Apex Predator’ will require surgery and will require a lengthy recuperation period, Brock was summoned to take his place. Around 5 p.m. ET, backstage personnel was told of Brock’s return to “SmackDown,” although he was not listed on the internal rundowns distributed just before the program.
Now, the WWE Universe is excited to see Brock back in the ring. And the cherry on the top would be that he and Roman Reigns have resurrected their feud. It would be a delight for worldwide wrestling enthusiasts to witness some more breathtaking contests between the two.
