One of the most newsworthy moments coming out of this week’s season premiere of WWE Raw was the unexpected return of Brock Lesnar. We had not seen The Beast since his humiliating loss against Roman Reigns at Summerslam earlier this year. After the match ended, the Cowboy Brock had some serious emotions on his face and seemingly bid a farewell to the WWE Universe.

However, people were already expecting Brock to return well in time for Crown Jewel, a mini Wrestlemania for the middle East. Exactly this happened and we saw Lesnar decimating the United States Champion Bobby Lashley.

He first delivered a thunderous F-5 to the champ followed up by German Suplex and another F-5 upon fans’ request. Lesnar put the final nail in coffin after he locked up Lashley into the devastating Kimura Lock, almost separating his right arm.

Reading the situation to utmost perfection, the Visionary Seth Rollins saw his opportunity upon an injured Lashley as they were originally scheduled for a United States Championship showdown. The WWE officials were escorting the Champion out of the ringside area with Rollins watching everything in agony. However, he enraged Bobby Lashley by dishing out some disrespect by the name of his nation.

The bell rang and Rollins immediately caught Bobby Lashley into a pedigree followed by a frog splash but to zero avail. Taking advantage of his bad arm, Rollins stomped Lashley’s face into the mat and finally capturing the United States Championship for himself with the Brooklyn crowd singing his theme song in unison.

WWE delivered a memorable show this past Monday night as the episode also saw some significant viewership bump from last week pulling in 1.824 Million viewers despite stiff football competition.

Andrew Zarian noted on this week’s Wrestling Observer Live that the networks have been satisfied with the creative direction of the red brand and they booked Brock Lesnar to cover up the absence of Bray Wyatt from this week’s show. However, we’ll get our answers this coming Friday night on Smackdown as Bray Wyatt is set to make an appearance.
