Clearly, Cody Rhodes is the guy in WWE right now. He’s placed right at the top alongside Roman Reigns. While The American Nightmare failed in his 1st attempt to Finish the Story, he’s still adamant on doing it someday. Since leaving All Elite Wrestling back in February 2020, a lot has changed for Rhodes. He made a courageous decision to return to WWE and it has truly paid off.
Recently, speaking on the Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray and Dave LaGreca discussed Cody’s ascend over the last year. Ray’s co-host Dave mentioned how Rhodes was an influential asset for AEW and their eventual growth. Hard to argue that the Jacksonville-based promotion wouldn’t be a thing today if it was not for Dusty’s son. Then, Bully Ray highlighted what has changed in The Prodigal Son since his WWE arrival.
One-half of the Dudley Boyz said that his return at WrestleMania 38 made him even a bigger star than his entire AEW run. Extending his conversation up to the entire locker room of Tony Khan, Ray iterated that Cody’s bigger than all of them. And to a fair point, there’s no argument on what the WWE legend emphasized on.
“Make no mistake, Dave, the day Cody made his entrance and his return at WrestleMania, Cody became a much bigger star than he ever was in AEW. He became bigger than AEW, he became bigger than any talents in AEW because it’s a different stage.”

Cody Rhodes almost got his arm broken on WWE Raw this week
Last night in Hershey, it was a rough outing for Rhodes. He suffered the wrath of an unhinged Beast throughout the show. First, while arriving in the arena, Lesnar ran through Cody backstage. The 10-time World Champion targeted Cody’s left arm, smashing it with a steel trash can. As a result, Rhodes screamed in agony while the cameras rolled to the ringside area.
Later on, Lesnar went out against an already laid out Cody Rhodes. However, the Beast decided to the make the matters worse for the former AEW EVP. The Alpha Male applied the Kimura Lock on Rhodes and refused to soften the grip for once. By the time Brock was done, the damage was already made.
Also, before closing the night, Cody Rhodes received a serious alert from Triple H. The 14-time World Champion tried talking Rhodes out of the match against Brock Lesnar, to prevent any further damage to Rhodes. However, hellbent on redemption, The American Nightmare refused Hunter’s advice.
Rhodes mentioned how during his prime, The Cerebral Assassin fight through injuries. In the hunger of replicating the same, Cody was successful in convincing WWE CCO for Night of Champions. As it stands, Rhodes & Lesnar are now headed to the Jeddah Superdome for an epic clash this Saturday afternoon.
