The WWE Universe was left stunned as Hall of Famer Trish Stratus made her return to Raw last night. She came out to help Becky Lynch and her former rival Lita in their women’s tag team match against Damage CTRL. The return seems to garner reactions from the wrestling world on Twitter, but it was the reaction of the American rapper Cardi B that seemed most interesting to the fans.
Trish Stratus’ return had been rumored for a couple of weeks now. However, it never transpired due to creative changes backstage. The Grand Rapid Arena in Michigan was buzzing with excitement seeing one of their favorite women’s wrestlers lay out Bayley and even the odds for her friends. Reacting to the incident on Raw, Cardi B tweeted, “Lita & Trish? What’s going on ???!!!!”

The WWE’s Twitter account also acknowledged the rapper’s tweet by directly responding to it on their feed. The Popstar eventually deleted her tweet though after some time. However, this Twitter exchange between the parties sparked rumors of Cardi B potentially making an appearance at WrestleMania. It is no doubt that she is a fan of the product, and if WWE wants to make the Biggest Show of the Year even bigger, they can have a special performance from one of the most popular rappers in the industry.

Lita and Becky Lynch win the Women’s Tag Team titles

When Lita returned three weeks ago on Raw, nobody would’ve guessed that the Hall of Famer would get another title run in WWE. Nevertheless, the WWE Legend pulled off the unthinkable by ending Damage CTRL’s 100+ days reign last night. This is Lita’s first championship victory in more than 16 years. She last held the WWE Women’s Championship back in 2006.
As Trish Stratus also made her return last night, the path to WrestleMania seems to get clearer. It seems only a matter of time before WWE confirms the 6-woman tag match for WrestleMania now. The two Hall of Famers and Becky Lynch going up against Damage CTRL at the Grandest Stage of Them All seems like an interesting prospect. And now the title change has added more weight to the rivalry. Trish Stratus and Lita have proven time and time again that they can still go inside the squared circle, and this time it wouldn’t be any different for the fans.
