Carmella made her triumphant return to in-ring competition this past Monday at Raw. The former Smackdown Women’s champion won the fatal four-way Elimination Chamber qualifier match, shocking everyone. However, she grabbed the attention of everyone with not just her in-ring achievement but her gear as well, which was a tribute to WWE Hall of Famer Lita.

In a post-match backstage interview with Cathy Kelly, Carmella revealed that the gear she was wearing was a nod to Lita, who also returned on the show. She said, “Okay, so, this (gear) is totally inspired by Lita. I always try to have inspiration with my gear. Coming back, it’s my first match in seven months and I had to look the part, honey, and she was my inspiration. I was hoping she’d get to see it, and she loved it.”

The Princess of Staten Island also tagged the legend on her Instagram post while posing for her photos in the gear. As Carmell has her sights set on the prize at Elimination Chamber, she teased yet another spectacular piece of gear for the event. Lita also made a return to Monday Night Raw in the main event match. The four-time women’s champion came out to help Becky Lynch in the Steel Cage match against Bayley. This is reportedly leading to her in-ring return in the near future.

The Princess of Staten Island came back from a seven-month hiatus on Raw after the Royal Rumble. Immediately after her return, she reinstated herself to the main event level after winning the fatal-four-way match on Raw. Carmella came one step closer to challenging Bianca Belair for the Raw women’s title at WrestleMania. Coincidentally, her last match on TV before her return was against the EST of WWE in July.

Carmella had actually taken time off due to a grave issue. In October, the WWE superstar revealed via Instagram that she was getting treated for an ectopic pregnancy. This news came just one month after she suffered an early miscarriage in September. While her husband, Corey Graves, continued to be part of the broadcasting team, Carmella took time off to recover.

Following such unfortunate events, Mella must have gotten some momentum following her triumphant return on Raw. She is only missing the Raw women’s championship from her accolade to become a “Grand Slam” champion in WWE. Though the chances of her winning at Elimination Chamber still look slim, the 35-year-old superstar has a bright future ahead of her.
