When it comes to grabbing opportunities, no one can match Charlotte Flair. With her eyes set on the WWE Women’s Championship for a long time, The Queen was quick to take her rightful spot as the challenger. This week’s SmackDown saw the second-generation superstar take on Bayley of Damage CTRL. The match took place to determine whether Charlotte would be added to the championship match at Fastlane.
Charlotte Flair and Bayley are no strangers to each other. The two have put on excellent matches in the past and have never failed to impress the crowd. As always, the two women gave it all in the ring this week to put on a good match. The Queen had a backstage interview with Kayla Braxton following her victory against The Role Model. Flair said, “I’ve known Bayley for 10 years. She was my first match at NXT.”
WWE on X shared the exclusive footage of the Friday Night SmackDown segment. The 14-time Women’s Champion said, “10 years ago, I was looking up to Bayley. She was the one showing me the ropes. If it is anything that I have learned over the years, its how to get under her skin and that’s exactly what I did tonight.”
The Queen of WWE mocked the Damage CTRL leader, saying, “Thank you Bayley. Now I have a triple threat against Iyo and Asuka. Thanks to you.” Bayley shocked the world during the Summer Slam of 2022 when she returned alongside Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai, forming Damage CTRL. She is currently involved in a program with Shotzi.
Charlotte Flair will face Asuka and Iyo Sky in a triple threat at Fastlane
Charlotte Flair’s win over The Role Model has provided her with the opportunity to become a 15-time Women’s Champion. The daughter of WWE Hall of Famer “Ric Flair” will face WWE Women’s Champion Iyo Sky and Asuka in a triple threat match this week at Fastlane.
Last week on SmackDown, Iyo Sky and Asuka faced each other for the championship, where the former reigned victorious. Moreover, the two put on a great match that was praised by many critics and fans. On the other hand, Charlotte Flair is a future Hall of Famer and fans are eager to see The Queen surpass her father’s record of most world title reigns soon.
