Chris Jericho is regarded as one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. Jericho is known for his incredible in-ring ability and is undoubtedly one of the best talkers in the wrestling industry. Some consider the former WWE Superstar’s promo on the day of his WWE debut to be the finest promo and debut in the company’s history.

For WWE, the year 1999 marked the start of the new millennium with The Lionheart’s debut. He entered the WWE and built a name for himself, thereby becoming one of the key players of the Attitude Era. In addition to being a very adept babyface and heel, Chris Jericho has demonstrated several heel personas, including comic and pure heels.

Jericho was a very experienced wrestler during his WWE debut, as he had wrestled in Mexico and also been a part of NJPW, WCW, and ECW. Chris Jericho discussed the negativity he received when he joined WWE after leaving WCW on a recent edition of “Talk is Jericho.” He claimed that since they believed WCW athletes to be inferior to them, the WWE locker room was hostile toward a wrestler arriving from WCW. He said that the locker room would constantly attempt to sabotage a WCW wrestler and put them on Vince’s radar.

“There was a lot of animosity for real because I had the audacity to come to WWE. People didn’t like it……So you could do ten things right, but if you did one thing wrong, you were under a microscope and you were in trouble. And those guys had pull, so they’d bury you to Vince.”

In the same episode, Chris Jericho said that he felt The Game was a nice guy since Triple H had urged him to call him for whatever assistance he needed after he had made his WWE debut. Then Jericho recalls asking Triple H how to get to Stockton by phone. He said that The Game advised him to purchase a map when he requested assistance with directions to the location. Jericho reportedly recalled X-Pac and Road Dogg, The Game’s DX pals, chuckling in the back as The Game replied.

“I remember Triple H, when I first got there, he said ‘If you ever need anything, give me a call……I went ‘I’ll call Triple H. He seems like a nice guy. This will be the start of our friendship. So, I call him, and he’s like ‘Hello, who’s this? It’s Chris Jericho. Do you know how to get to Stockton?……Buy a f*cking map.’……Well there goes that friendship down the toilet.”

Chris Jericho and Triple H have faced each other numerous times, but they first crossed paths in 2000. The two were involved in a rivalry in 2000, which was instigated when Stephanie McMahon interfered in a match between Jericho and Kurt Angle at the quarterfinals of the King of the Ring Tournament. Angle had tapped out to the walls of Jericho, but Stephanie’s interference had distracted the referee.

She further tried to hit Jericho with her Women’s Championship belt, but he kissed her instead. This didn’t go down well with The Game, as McMahon was his on-screen wife at the time. Chris Jericho also cost Triple H a triple threat match involving Kurt Angle and the Rock. The rivalry then escalated to a Last Man Standing Match at Fully Loaded in 2000, where the Game defeated Jericho.
