WrestleMania 40 is a few days away, and the buildup has been one of the best in recent times. Easily the most talked-about match heading into the show is the tag team bout on Night 1. The Rock and Roman Reigns will face Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, with major implications for the main event on the second night. Ahead of this weekend, CM Punk gave his prediction on who would emerge victorious.

In a social media post, The Second City Saint has backed The Bloodline duo to pick up the win. As for the reason why, Punk believes that Rollins is the weak link in the match. While he claimed that it’s hard to bet against Rhodes, The Best in the World maintained that his archrival will be a limitation for his partner. Evidently, he couldn’t put aside his animosity for The Visionary, using the opportunity to take a jab at him.

Since his return to WWE, Punk and Rollins have been at loggerheads with each other. Moreover, if not for the two-time WWE Champion’s injury, the tag team match wouldn’t have been taking place. Instead, the two men would’ve been settling their differences in a World Heavyweight Championship match on Night 1. Drew McIntyre ended up replacing CM Punk in this bout, while the latter will resort to being a special guest commentator.

While Punk’s prediction was made out of spite, fans have been speculating on the possibility of Seth Rollins turning on The American Nightmare. Needless to say, it will be interesting to see how the storyline unfolds this weekend.

Over the past two years, The Second City Saint’s journey has been an interesting one. From being AEW’s top star to getting into a legitimate brawl with the EVPs, Punk has yet to speak publicly about all the events that led to his departure.

At All In 2023, he was once again involved in a backstage fight. This time it was with Jack Perry, who defied Punk’s advice to use fake glass instead of real. AEW president Tony Khan had enough of the controversies and ended up firing the company’s biggest draw. Months later, the unthinkable happened as he blew the roof off the Allstate Arena at Survivor Series and returned to WWE.
