There’s a handful amount of superstars who can assert that they’ve wrestled Roman Reigns & Brock Lesnar in a calendar year. Being two of the biggest mainstream attractions for WWE, anyone would love to make a name for themselves against these goliaths. In that case, one such fellow is none other than Cody Rhodes.

During this weekend’s live event in Fayetteville, The American Nightmare defeated Finn Balor. At one point, Roman Reigns was too advertised to work this rare house show. However, it was just a blunder from the promotional team of WWE. As a result of the false advertisement, this show moved around 1400 tickets since Reigns was advertised.

WWE offered the refunds as well to cover up the mistake on their part. Coming back to the event, Cody Rhodes had a message to share following his victory. Taking a subtle dig at Roman Reigns’ absence at the Crown Colesium, the Prodigal Son cited his own presence as the cause.

He then addressed Brock Lesnar during the same promo and promised the fans in arena that whenever they’ll see him next, he’d hope to have beaten The Beast twice by then. So being said, the former AEW EVP also manifested some gold tied around his waist before he could pay a visit to Fayetteville next time. You can check Cody’s entire promo below.

This Saturday in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Rhodes goes on hunt for Lesnar once again. At Backlash earlier this month, these men collided for the first time in their careers. During the match, The Beast Incarnate was left busted open after being hit head first on the exposed turnbuckle.

Closing moments saw Cody Rhodes smartly rolling up Lesnar amidst a Kimura Lock to grab the win. Although the victory wasn’t as clean as a whistle, it’s a win after all. On the episode of Raw following Backlash, an irate Brock Lesnar appeared out of nowhere and launched an attack on Dusty’s baby boy.

As a result, Cody was snubbed of a World Heavyweight Championship opportunity. After that, Lesnar laid down the challenge for a fight at Night of Champions, which Rhodes accepted the following week. With early rumors of their feud potentially stretching up to WWE SummerSlam, the Alpha Male might score a victory against the Son of a Plumber.

If that happens, Rhodes and Lesnar will stand on equal grounds. To follow that up, a third and decisive bout would be necessary to determine the winner of this assumed trilogy. Even though he’s currently occupied with The Beast, Rhodes’ prime focus hasn’t shifted yet as he still plans to finish the story with Roman Reigns.
