The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes is one of the stars of the company. He achieved a great feat last year when he won the Royal Rumble match. However, he was unsuccessful in finishing his story back then. Now, he has been announced as the cover star for WWE 2K24. In an interview, Rhodes claimed that all the festivities for 2K24 don’t hide the fact that his story is unfinished, and he will be looking forward to finishing it.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, the American Nightmare bluntly accepted that his story was unfinished. Therefore, he claimed that if his story was unfinished until WWE 2K25, he would not like to be a part of the commercials. He would withdraw himself from all the festivities regarding the game.

However, Rhodes called himself undeserving, saying he would be unable to finish his story by the time of WWE 2K25. The American Nightmare came close to wrapping up his story at WrestleMania 39 against Roman Reigns. However, the efforts of the Bloodline didn’t allow him to do so. Besides, his attempts throughout 2023 all went in vain.

Furthermore, the 38-year-old has declared himself for the Royal Rumble match. It is going to be another opportunity for him to finish his story. However, the match also involves the likes of CM Punk, Gunther, and Drew McIntyre, who are some prominent contenders to win the highly anticipated match. With so much at stake, it is going to be interesting to see if Rhodes is somehow able to pull out a victory to headline WrestleMania 40.

Mick Foley chooses Cody Rhodes as the favorite to win the Royal Rumble

Cody Rhodes is one of the favorites to win the Royal Rumble this year. He was the winner of last year’s match. Recently, WWE legend, Mick Foley expressed his views on Cody’s story. He heaped high praise on the American Nightmare after revealing him as his favorite star to win it all.

During his appearance on WWE’s The Bump Show, Foley stated that he would love to see Rhodes in the main event picture once again. Moreover, he revealed that he’s proud of Rhodes and that he has earned his respect. Besides, winning the Royal Rumble once again would open the door to finally finishing his story.

I would love to see Cody [Rhodes] back in the main event picture. I really would. I think that's the perfect ending to his story. I know that the fans were bitterly disappointed when Cody did not defeat Roman [Reigns] last year. But he went out on his own and he earned something more important than that WWE Title. He earned the respect of all the naysayers

Only time will tell if Rhodes will be able to finish his story or not. The Royal Rumble is this Saturday at Tropicana Field in Tampa Bay. It will be the start of the road to WrestleMania. Rhodes is a huge face of WWE, and his path toward the Show of Shows will surely be a fascinating aspect of this year.
