Cody Rhodes squared off against Shinsuke Nakamura on this week’s episode of Raw. The American Nightmare defeated his rival in a stipulation created by his father, a Bull Rope Match. Afterwards, he was attacked by Drew McIntyre, who delivered a Claymore to end the show. However, Sami Zayn saved his friend after the show went off-air. The duo would go on to talk with the St. Louis crowd in the arena, where Cody emotionally addressed the fans’ support.

First, the former Bloodline member talked about how Rhodes has been trending online for the past few days. Sami Zayn further proceeded to get the fans behind the Royal Rumble winner, leading them to chant “We Want Cody.” In reply, he expressed his gratitude for the three-word message from the WWE Universe.

The American Nightmare cut an impassionate promo about how he’s wanted to garner the respect and love of the fans. Cody Rhodes requested that the crowd show the same support for Sami Zayn as well. Furthermore, he praised the ringside crew and Samantha Irvin for doing an admirable job. Needless to say, the 38-year-old continued to prove why he is the most popular superstar in wrestling.

Meanwhile, Sami Zayn appeared in a pre-recorded interview on Raw, where he talked about his ambitions to claim a championship. The former Intercontinental Champion expressed his desire to no longer be an underdog and reach the top of the mountain. It will be interesting to see whether he becomes a World Champion in 2024.

Cody Rhodes asks the WWE Universe to “trust” him

Amid the ongoing widespread support for him, Cody Rhodes has asked his fans to remain patient. On this week’s Raw, The American Nightmare seemingly teased challenging Seth Rollins instead of going after Roman Reigns. As the outrage grew online, the 38-year-old sent a message on his X account.

While Cody appreciated the support from fans, he asked them to “trust” him. While the WWE Universe believes the situation will be fixed, this statement may hint otherwise. After Friday’s debacle, reports circulated that Rhodes is slated to face Seth at the Showcase of Immortals.

The audience will receive clarification regarding the plans for the show during Thursday’s press conference, where the likes of Cody, Seth, The Rock, and Roman will be present. It will be interesting to see how those in attendance react to the situation.
