Speaking about the Hell in a Cell match in an interview with Logan Paul, Cody Rhodes opened up about the conversation between him and Vince McMahon. Everyone knows about the situation: Cody entered the match against a formidable foe in Seth Rollins. He had a torn pectoral muscle and was unable to lift his arm. As soon as the fight started, Seth Rollins took the upper hand as he targeted Cody’s injury.

Cody Rhodes was suffering, but his determination to do something made him powerful. The match changed when Rollins jumped through the table, but Rhodes rolled out of harm’s way. Cody took advantage of the situation and delivered two Cross Rhodes. He also used the sledgehammer to win that match. But before the match, as per Cody Rhodes, Mr. McMahon told him that if Cody struggled in that match, then the match would be called off.

Here’s what Cody said: “I wasn’t going to have it any other way. I had to have the match at least. It [the medical exam] was simple, it was completely torn, there was nothing else that could happen to it. [Vince] knew I wasn’t going to take ‘no.’ I had a great conversation with him and he was really clear about, ‘Hey man, if you’re struggling out there, we’ve got to call it.”

The American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes, returned to WWE after many years at WrestleMania 38. Since then, his journey has become one of the most admirable ones. Recently, Cody won the Men’s Royal Rumble match and got a chance to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Universal Championship.

Cody Rhodes had not competed since his last match at Hell in a Cell in 2022. His past rivalry with Seth Rollins made him so pumped up that he went on to fight Rollins with a torn pectoral muscle at Hell in a Cell. He returned at Royal Rumble this past week and entered at number 30.

The WWE universe was awestruck when they heard the entrance music of the American Nightmare. Cody Rhodes outlasted 29 other men to win the Royal Rumble and will be headlining WrestleMania. He surpassed all the challenges in front of him and eliminated Logan Paul, Dominik Mysterio, and the Ring General, Gunther. Despite all the hard work and new records Gunther set, Cody was able to throw him over the top rope. By winning the Rumble, Cody Rhodes is one step closer to the American Dream. Fans will have to wait until WrestleMania 39 to know what the future holds for Cody Rhodes.
