There is no doubt in saying that Cody Rhodes has become one of the biggest stars of the modern era. So much so that many have started to consider him the undisputed face of the new era. However, it is debatable if his ground-breaking leap from AEW to WWE kicked off a new era for the company. 

Wrestling host Sam Roberts spoke with Chris Van Vliet about the current era, which has seen the business taken to never-before-seen heights. At first, Roberts called The Bloodline saga responsible for starting the new era, but then he ended up choosing Cody Rhodes‘ return at WrestleMania 38 as a pivotal moment. The American Nightmare himself has reacted to Roberts’ opinion on social media.

The 38-year-old took to X and replied in a sarcastic manner, asking who Roberts was. Many assumed that he wasn’t aware of him. However, that’s not true, as he has worked in WWE for many years and has previously interviewed Rhodes on many occasions. Rhodes has the habit of often answering questions in a similar manner, which sometimes leaves his fans befuddled.

People on social media certainly gave Rhodes credit, as his rise to the top since his return to WWE has caught the eyes of many viewers. The American Nightmare has won the Royal Rumble in consecutive years and headlined several PLEs.

This year, Rhodes will main event his second WrestleMania in a row, as he will fight Roman Reigns and The Rock in a tag team match with Seth Rollins on Night 1. On Night 2, he will compete against The Tribal Chief in a singles match for the Undisputed Championship with a stipulation. The latter will be decided by the result of the Night 1 main event.

Although Cody Rhodes joked around a bit, he gave a more mature reply later regarding the same topic of discussion. He explained why his second run with WWE has been more successful than his initial run on social media.

The American Nightmare took to X and replied to a fan who described him as the center piece of the new era. At first, he shied away from the praise and then stated the three important factors that propelled him to superstardom. Rhodes revealed that he truly went all in, and luck, timing, and great partners were three important factors in his success.

During his initial run, the 38-year-old wasn’t seen as a main event player and was mostly stuck in the midcard. Later, he had to don the suit and paint his face as he became Stardust before his disappointing release from WWE. However, Cody Rhodes returned to the company as a completely different man and changed the wrestling landscape forever.
