And all Rhodes leads to WrestleMania. Let’s get deep into this. Gunther and Sheamus opened the match trading hellacious chest blows. In comes Miz at No. 3 playing classic textbook heel. After an initial reluctance, Miz finally entered just to receive 10 beats of the badrom from Sheamus, followed by the Brogue Kick to get eliminated. Fast forwarding halfway through the match, Seth Rollins came at No. 15 and immediately eliminated Baron Corbin.

Rey Mysterio’s music hit at 17th spot, however, he never came out. Earlier on, Bobby Lashley eliminated Brock Lesnar with authority. Following that, The Beast Incarnate went unhinged, fuming in anger as was in utter disbelief. At 21, Booker T made a surprise appearance only to last a minute or so before he was thrown out by Gunther. Next big pop came when Edge entered at No. 24. However, after unleashing himself on the Judgment Day, the Rated-R Superstar fell a victim to JD’s evil intentions.

One of the most awe-inspiring moments came when Logan Paul and Ricochet crashed off a springboard lariat attempt. And finally at Number 30, Cody Rhodes made his long-awaited entrance through that aisle. Crowd welcomed The American Nightmare with huge pop. Then, The Maverick eliminated Seth Rollins to get massive heat from the Alamodome, before Rollins and Rhodes laid waste to each other.

Final men remaining were the Intercontinental Champion Gunther and the returning Cody Rhodes. For what it’s worth, these men battled through sweat and pain, especially Gunther who lasted an hour, 11 minutes and 25 seconds in the Rumble match, setting a new record for that. Before Cody ultimately pushed Gunther from the ring apron right to the floor, they just nailed it. Crowd was on their feets until that slugfest ended. With this win, Cody Rhodes has taken a step forward to achieve his WrestleMania dream.
