Real Reason behind Lacey Evans’ absence from WWE Television
Lacey Evans
You might’ve been wondering where the heck has Lacey Evans disappeared all of a sudden after recently returning to WWE from her maternity leave period. We do have an update about her current situation and it’s definitely not promising. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, the Sassy Southern Bell have been apparently sidelined due to medical reasons. This would be the last thing her fans could have ever wished to hear as she herself came back after missing out for over an year after giving birth to her second child.
After running several vignettes and backstage segments for Lacey, she eventually made her in-ring return on June 10th edition of Friday Night Smackdown in a Money in the Bank against Xia Li and she picked up an impressive victory over the Chinese. Everything was going well for the “American Hero” gimmick of Evans until Money in the Bank premium live event arrived. That night proved out to be an unpredictable and rough outing for Lacey Evans as far as the type of crowd reaction goes. She got heavily booed from the people of Las Vegas during the Women’s Ladder Match and there was no certain reason why that even happened.
Over the next few weeks, the crowds continued to gave her that negative reaction every time she showed up on television. She was booked to team up with Aliyah on July 8th Smackdown but instead attacked her own partner out of her disdain for the crowd and losing up on her, Lacey finally turned heel delivering a Women’s Right to Aliyah’s jaw.
What could be there in store for Lacey Evans?
Although she hasn’t been used to her full potential on the main roster, Evans showed glimpses of a great performer whenever she was booked right and given the appropriate story to work with. One of the most significant programs she had been a part of was against Becky Lynch over the Raw Women’s Championship back in 2019 and another notable program came up against Bayley for the Smackdown Women’s Title where Lacey Evans was a babyface. But still, her WWE future is currently up in air.
