UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier reveals the backstory behind being the special guest referee at WWE Extreme Rules

Daniel Cormier is well known in the world for his amazing professional career. A UFC Hall Of Famer, Cormier has a lot of credit to his name in various forms of wrestling. He is also the sole person to hold a championship in every single of his promotion brands. 

Currently, he is working as an analyst as well as a commentator for UFC. His exceptional skills and love for the MMA industry is spread very far and wide and WWE did not fail to recognise this. The company has welcomed superstars from various fields and companies and this time it is Daniel Cormier. 

WWE will be organizing the Extreme Rules this weekend and one of the most awaited matches will have Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle inside the squared circle. The two superstars have waited for a long time now to go face to face at a premium live event and it obviously won’t be a regular match.

WWE already raised the bars by announcing that the match would be a fight pit match. Another raise was brought when WWE announced Daniel Cormier as the special guest referee in the match. Daniel Cormier will officiate the Riddle vs Rollins match at Extreme Rules

Cormier was in an interview with Marc Raimondi from ESPN.com where he revealed the story of his invitation to Extreme Rules. “Real life-fighting in the fight pit and we may be in the market for a special guest referee, would you have any interest in it?” Seth Rollins had asked him. 

Daniel Cormier is an avid wrestling fan and loves to see the rivalry Rollins and Riddle showcase on the stage. “These guys that are professionals, they’re gonna make magic as they have done on so many occasions,” he said. He also believed to add a little bit to the feud in the ring.

UFC president Dana White supported his decision to be on the show since he knew how much Cormier loves WWE. The entire UFC crowd is excited to see their star in WWE. He appeared on this Monday Night RAW episode to focus on their training.
