Dave Bautista, better known as Batista among WWE fans, is a well-reputed public figure in and out of the wrestling circle. Before The Animal blasted into superstardom in WWE and Hollywood, he etched a career for himself in the bodybuilding field. Batista recently made a big announcement on his social media, ecstatically revealing that he is an Honorary Ambassador for the 2023 Olympia Weekend.
Taking to his Instagram handle, Batista uploaded a video of himself to break the news. He then announced that he had been chosen as the Honorary Ambassador for Olympia Weekend 2023. The Hollywood star credited Olympia President Dan Solomon and Jake Wood for entrusting him with this venerable position.
Speaking in the announcement video, Batista said, “I’ve just been informed that I have been named the Honorary Ambassador to the Olympia Weekend courtesy of my man Dan Solomon and Jake Wood. I really appreciate this opportunity.” Extending his gratitude to both individuals, the 54-year-old added that he is excited to be a part of the Olympia event.
Olympia Weekend is from November 2-5 in Orlando, Florida. This annual bodybuilding competition is the most prestigious event in the fitness industry. Dave Bautista, who considers bodybuilding the life-changing phenomenon of his initial career, will grace the event with his starry presence. Moreover, the Hollywood star recently expanded his portfolio by embarking on a new venture.
Bobby Lashley desires to face Dave Bautista in a match
After spending over a decade out of WWE, Bobby Lashley made his WWE return on the night after WrestleMania 34. The superstar went on to have the most successful run of his career and claimed the WWE championship twice. In a recent interview, the All Mighty expressed his interest in working a match against retired WWE superstar Batista.
Speaking of a potential match with Batista on the Perform Podcast, Lashley said, “Dave is definitely somebody I would love to have a match with. It would be something that would do some huge box office numbers. Dave, since he’s left WWE, his whole entire career has exploded to another level. Of course, you want to bring somebody like him back. If we can, I know it would be a great match up.” (H/T Ringside News)
The 47-year-old superstar stated that Batista has ascended to the next level of stardom after leaving WWE. Thus, a match between him and the latter would have enormous box office numbers. Earlier this September, fans witnessed the return of WWE legends The Rock and John Cena, owing to the SAG-AFTRA strike. Moreover, with the writers’ strike almost nearing its end, it’s highly unlikely that Batista would be back to WWE, even for a brief period.
