Vince McMahon is one of the most intriguing personalities in the history of WWE. The type of storylines he has had in the past in WWE continue to startle fans to this day. One such storyline was the Battle of The Billionaires that took place at WrestleMania 23. Donald Trump and Vince McMahon chose wrestlers from WWE who fought each other on behalf of their bosses.
According to the stipulation of the match, the winner of the bout gets to shave the loser’s hair in front of everyone. Vince McMahon’s team lost the match and was hence shaved by Donald Trump, Bobby Lashley, and Stone Cold Steve Austin. The latter was the guest referee in the match between Donald Trump’s wrestler Bobby Lashley and McMahon’s Umaga.
However, it turns out that Trump and McMahon signed a contract before the match, fixing what was going to happen in the match. It was revealed that the former POTUS made some changes and made sure that he would not shave his head, win, lose, or draw. It was stated in the contract that Mr. Trump would not shave his head even if his wrestler dropped dead in the ring.
Surprisingly, Umaga, who was representing Vince McMahon, lost the match. Therefore, after the match, Donald Trump, Bobby Lashley, and Stone Cold humiliated Vinnie Mac and shaved his head at WrestleMania. This moment went down in history as one of the most memorable moments in WWE.
Donald Trump got paid around $5 million for his WrestleMania feud in 2007
It is no surprise that Donald Trump and Vince McMahon are both extremely rich and have been at the top of their industries for years. However, it is being reported that the two also exchanged huge amounts of money for Trump’s appearance at WrestleMania 23. As fans already know, the two were a part of The Battle of The Billionaires.
The Wall Street Journal has revealed that Donald Trump took almost $1 million from WWE as an appearance fee for WrestleMania 23. Additionally, it was also reported that McMahon personally paid $4 million to Trump’s now-defunct Trump Foundation. This was more than anyone else got paid for appearing in a feud, including the top stars of the time and legends like Steve Austin or The Rock a few years later.
The two billionaires share a long history, and this was not the first time Trump had appeared in McMahon’s company. He was also inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013 with Bruno Sammartino, Trish Stratus, Mick Foley, and others.
