Drew McIntyre is currently out of action due to an injury. The nature of the injury has not been revealed yet, and fans miss watching their beloved superstar in the WWE. McIntyre’s last televised bout was at the Survivor Series WarGames, where he fought in the WarGames match.
After the defeat, McIntyre appeared at a live show, where he was part of an eight-man tag match. He teamed up with Butch, Ridge Holland, and Kevin Owens and defeated The Usos, Sami Zayn, and Solo Sikoa.
It is unknown as of now when fans will get to see McIntyre in action again. The WWE Universe hopes to see McIntyre in the Royal Rumble match. The Scottish Warrior, being one of the toughest opponents and winner of the 2020 Royal Rumble, shouldn’t miss the match.
Drew McIntyre has fought a lot of top stars in the company, and recently he feuded with Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Championship. The feud saw them fighting against each other at the Clash at the Castle PLE, but McIntyre failed to win at the event.
During a recent interview with Faction 919, Drew McIntyre was asked about his favorite opponent in the WWE. The former WWE Champion stated that he loves working with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. He said that if he had to pick his personal favorite, it would be Sheamus.
McIntyre said that he has known Sheamus for a long time, and they both have a great understanding in the ring. He said that they both share the same passion and can put on a great match each time for everybody’s entertainment.
“If I had to pick one, I’d probably say Sheamus, just because we’ve known each other for so long and been through so much together. [We] have an understanding that we can just beat the crap out of each other for everybody’s entertainment. And any chance we get to get in the ring together, especially now with fans there, we see it as a privilege.”
Karrion Kross heaped praise on Drew McIntyre
Drew McIntyre and Karrion Kross had a brief feud following the Clash at the Castle PLE. The feud led to two matches between them. The first one took place at Extreme Rules, and the second one happened at Crown Jewel. The Extreme Rules match was won by Kross, whereas Drew McIntyre won at the Crown Jewel. The rivalry culminated at the Crown Jewel, and the record now stands at 1-1 between them.
The rivalry between them was an intense one, and fans thoroughly enjoyed it except for the match at Extreme Rules. During an appearance on The Cheap Heat, Kross showered praise on his former rival. He said that McIntyre is such an excellent worker that he would work with him for seven days a week. Kross said that the Scottish warrior understands the audience very well and is one of the most hard-working people he has come across.
“I mean, I would work with Drew McIntyre seven days a week. He has such an excellent ear for the audience — live, when we’re out there — just as a worker…… He’s one of the hardest working people I’ve ever met, and I would probably say one of the toughest too.”
Drew McIntyre has had great success during his second stint in the company, but he aims to achieve more. The former WWE Champion is a significant part of the company. If not at the Royal Rumble, then WWE must try to bring him back before WrestleMania 39.
