Ever since The Tribal Chief began his dominant run, innumerable fans have expressed their desire to see him lock horns with The Rock. After years of speculation, the Great One finally chose to grace the WWE Universe and teased his willingness to become the Head of the Table. However, there seems to be one person who’d be deeply upset if this bout were to take place at WrestleMania.

The superstar in focus is the Natural, Dustin Rhodes. The AEW star recently sat with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated. It was during this discussion that he touched on the topic of WrestleMania. He expressed his faith in his younger brother and affirmed how it was his time, irrespective of the star power of The Rock.

“I hope Cody’s in the main event spot against Roman. Or it’s going to be The Rock. If it is The Rock, I’m pi**ed–this is Cody’s time. He is becoming the face of the company, and it’s paying off."

Further, Rhodes would depict his wisdom about understanding the business when he acknowledged how many wouldn’t mind seeing The People’s Champ in the main event. The American Nightmare was someone seen as the forerunner of dethroning Roman Reigns. However, the inclusion of The Rock has complicated the plans.

Even Cody Rhodes has been pitched the possibility of such changes; however, he has remained unfazed by them. There’s a massive fan base that might agree with what Dustin has stated. Only time will tell who will ultimately step up against The Tribal Chief at the Showcase of the Immortals.

Reflecting on Dustin Rhodes’ latest title opportunity in AEW

On January 17, 2024, AEW Dynamite saw a legendary opening as Christian Cage squared up with Dustin Rhodes. While Dustin headed solo, Cage was accompanied by his entourage, which included Nick Wayne and Killswitch. Both men were constant hindrances in the way of the former Bizzare One.

The two men were even on the receiving end of a heavy offense from Cage. It was an engaging affair that captured the imagination of the crowd. However, the odds were heavily stacked again for Rhodes, who couldn’t overcome them as Cage once again got to retain his title.

It was also a trip down memory lane for those familiar with ECW. Both the names were big stars for the extreme brand in their prime. Despite his loss, Rhodes made sure that Cage had to fight tooth and nail for his victory.
