“Finally, The Rock has come back to Denver!” were the words that blew off the roof of Ball Arena this week on SmackDown. The WWE Universe was on its feet when The Rock’s theme song hit. This has happened as a result of Dwayne Johnson’s presence in Boulder, Colorado.
His appearance on The Pat McAfee Show the same day saw him answer many interesting questions. The Rock shed light on his time off from WWE and revealed the reason behind it. He spoke about his last full-fledged match at WrestleMania 29, where he suffered a severe injury.
Pat McAfee then added whether these injuries are the reason why Dwayne Johnson does not show up much in WWE. But The Rock’s answer straight up declined this fact and stated that he was not concerned about the injuries. The Great One said, “It’s not even the schedule, I control the schedule to a large degree.” He elucidated that he focused more on the product that he tends to deliver to the fans.
Dwayne Johnson emphasized the importance of the “why and what” he creates upon his return. He aims to do something unprecedented for the fans, seeking the perfect opportunity and reason to return to the ring.
The fact that he mentioned wishing to deliver something unprecedented proved true a few hours later on SmackDown. The People’s Champ lived up to his words and returned to WWE after four years, giving fans a surprise that they did not expect at all. This is also a move to kick off the new era of WWE under Endeavor, beginning with SmackDown.

Dwayne Johnson met Vince McMahon when he was 11 years old
While speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, Dwayne Johnson shed light on WWE in the 1980s. Johnson mentioned that he never thought Vince McMahon would sell the company. However, he is not surprised by the fact that it has happened. The Brahma Bull believes McMahon foresees a bigger future for WWE with their merger with the UFC.
The Rock stated that he first met Vince at the age of 11 in New York. WWF on MSG Network saw Rocky Johnson team up with Tony Atlas and Andre The Giant to take on The Wild Samoans on January 23, 1984. He mentioned and laughed at the fact that Sika Anoa’i, father of Roman Reigns, went against his father, Rocky.
Dwayne cites, “This is why we have gotten along for years, just tryna think big picture!” His work ever since the first WrestleMania until now has been documented and has resulted in the creation of a billion-dollar company. He ended the conversation by saying the merger is also incredible and has a bright future ahead of it.
