A dream match that has been in talks for many years is the battle of the Samoans. Roman Reigns vs. The Rock is one of the most anticipated bouts of this decade, and ever since Reigns declared himself as The Head of the Table, Rocky is treated as his final boss. A mention of this momentous match was even made in NBC’s sitcom Young Rock (Dwayne Johnson’s childhood story) stating it to be a WrestleMania-worthy matchup.

In a clip from season 2 episode 5, ‘What Business’ of Young Rock, a scene shows the Johnson family watching a wrestling match. A bout between Yokozuna and “High Chief” Peter Maivia saw the former perform a Samoan Drop. As the match proceeded on television, a young Joe Anoa’i, a.k.a. Roman Reigns (Bowie Walton) came towards Rock (Uli Latukefu) and grabbed his head, performing a headlock.

He asked for someone to Samoan Drop him and break the fourth wall, saying, Acknowledge Me! That moment was paused and saw narration from Johnson describing that kid. A stat shown on the screen cited Joe’s upcoming success in WWE with his major accomplishments. When the story resumed, Anoa’i asked Dwayne to wrestle with him, which the latter denied, claiming their match should happen only at WrestleMania.

The incident is shown happening in 1995 and teases the future of wrestling after nearly 30 years. Now that we have entered 2024, the wrestling world will most likely witness that match at Mania. The Rock’s shocking return on Raw Day 1 has hinted at their match for leading the legacy of the Samoan dynasty. But now the question still lies whether the battle will happen at the Elimination Chamber: Perth or at WrestleMania 40.

John Cena is supportive of The Rock vs. Roman Reigns dream match

The Greatest of All Time John Cena is known for his weird Instagram posts. Anything trending in the world of pop culture gets showcased on Cena’s feed. And now that WWE is in plans to make the dream match come true, John has taken advantage of it. The dream match is The Rock vs. Roman Reigns.

The Cenation Leader posted a fan-made edit poster of Rocky and Reigns being face-to-face. Just like Cena’s every other post, this one also lacked a caption and saw the only stars’ head-to-head picture. Dwayne on the left was from WrestleMania 31 and Roman from his 2021 era with the Universal Championship.

The People’s Champ coming on Raw Day 1 has paved the way for that dream match. He asked the San Diego crowd whether he should sit at The Head of the Table and dethrone Reigns. But the question boils down to the venue that will host this match. Fans expect WrestleMania 40, but rumors suggest Elimination Chamber 2024.
