When Vince McMahon announced that he had tanked the XFL, Dwayne Johnson stepped up and bought the company from McMahon. The Rock and his partners are actively rebuilding the league with positive signs of progress. Details about contracts and offers to sign big stars for their leagues are emerging.
Dwayne Johnson had tried to sign NFL star Colin Kaepernick for a hefty deal with the XFL. However, the deal was never finalized, as Kaepernick and Johnson did not agree. The former SF 49ers star has been out of action since 2017. However, his star presence is undeniable. Therefore, the Hollywood star was interested in signing him.
When the 49ers signed NFL star Colin Kaepernick, his average salary was in the range of $1.2 million. Unfortunately, this would not have been his salary in the XFL, as it is a minor league. However, Dwayne Johnson would have tried his best to match his old contract. But it could not come to fruition.
The Rock recently commented on Instagram about the deal that he tried to make with Colin Kaepernick. He also mentioned Colin’s agent and praised him. The Great One said that he looked to create an opportunity for him to return to the field, but it does not look like it will happen. However, the 51-year-old remains hopeful of developing a relationship between the two parties.

How much is the existing highest paid contract worth in Dwayne Johnson’s XFL?
Currently, the highest-paid player in the XFL is Brett Hundley. He has a net worth of $4 million and makes a base salary of $200k from his XFL deal. The quarterback for the Vegas Vipers used to make around 196k before he left the NFL. Therefore, the new deal makes sense for Hundley.
If Kaepernick were to sign with the XFL, he would have been offered the same, if not a bigger contract, in the league. XFL is in the initial stages and therefore cannot compete with the NFL when it comes to contracts and money offered. Therefore, a lot of players are hesitant to sign with the Johnson League.
Despite being out of action for almost six years, Kaepernick’s net worth is around $20 million. A majority of this comes from his deal with Nike, which he signed back in 2018. Therefore, having a player of this caliber would only increase the stock of Johnson’s XFL.
