Retired professional wrestler, Dwayne Johnson, popularly known as ‘The Rock‘ recently made an important announcement on ‘Fox’ stating how the XFL and the USFL have taken an official decision to merge together to be called the United Football League.

The former wrestler turned actor recently announced on the news broadcasting agency, Fox where he appeared to state the merger of the XFL and USFL to form the United Football League which is scheduled to begin on the 30th of March next year. This announcement was made during the NFL pregame show at Fox Sports.

The Rock’s XFL is a minor league of professional American football with 8 teams and had announced its collaboration with the USFL, another minor league to expand its opportunities to get more talent around in the circuit. The 51-year-old stated:

These two leagues have been going around separately for quite some time now and it only makes sense for the two to merge together as they already shared a partially overlapping schedule this year. They announced this intention late in September but only managed to get the approval of the federations and authorities on the 30th of November.

The much-awaited merger will take shape on 30th March 2024 and the opener will be between the respective league’s 2023 champions, Arlington Renegades( XFL) and Birmingham Stallions(USFL).
