On the 15th September edition of SmackDown, WWE’s very own megastar Dwayne The Rock Johnson finally made his long-awaited return. After 4 long years, The people’s champ returned alongside Pat Macafee to confront Austin Theory. He even dropped a fantastic “People’s Elbow” onto Theory.

This return was met with an overwhelmingly positive response as the WWE Universe had been clambering for The Rock‘s appearance for months now and his return made fans excited speculating about what’s to come next.

The show began with a surprise appearance by Pat McAfee on SmackDown, addressing the WWE fans in Denver. However, Austin Theory rudely interrupted him, insulting both the crowd and McAfee. After some verbal sparring, McAfee hinted at another return that night, leading to The Rock’s entrance to a thunderous reception. Dwayne Johnson worked the crowd in his unique style. Despite Theory’s interference, The Rock countered and delivered his iconic “The People’s Elbow.” Backstage, Rock interacted with John Cena, evoking a wave of nostalgia for the WWE Universe.
