On SmackDown last week, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson challenged Cody Rhodes and Seth “Freakin” Rollins with the odds in their favor. Rhodes and Rollins promised on Raw to make their trip to the blue brand to confront the cousins and answer their challenge. Moreover, the rivals-turned-allies arrived and gave their answer.
Triple H took to X to hype the WWE Universe about the match moments after the alliance of The American Nightmare and The Visionary accepted the challenge on SmackDown. This marks the first time The Great One is scheduled for a WWE match in eight years. The last time The Brahma Bull wrestled a match was at WrestleMania 32 against Wyatt Family’s Erick Rowan. The impromptu match lasted for only 6 seconds.
Interestingly, despite appearing with Reigns earlier in his career, for the first time, the two cousins will team up. Ironically, The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment will wrestle alongside the man he returned to topple from the Head of the Table. Furthermore, this will be the 51-year-old Superstar’s first match as a member of The Bloodline.
The Rock returned to WWE Raw Day 1 this year. Rock made his intentions clear about sitting at the Head of the Table. However, the WWE Universe was against Cody giving up his Mania spot to the Hollywood actor and forced him to turn heel. Despite wanting to fight Roman Reigns, Rocky was forced to join The Bloodline and ally with his cousin.
The Rock scheduled for another PLE appearance after WrestleMania XL
Whether heel or face, Rocky is a massive star to be on WWE programming. Despite the usual wrestling fans, Rock attracts mainstream attention as well. Therefore, WWE always tries to have the highest-paid actor on board when it matters the most. According to reports, Johnson might appear at WWE’s Saudi Arabia PLE in May of this year.
Many fans have predicted that the idea might be to have Rhodes finish his story and have Rock vs. Reigns in Saudi Arabia. Despite becoming a member of his family faction, the 8-time WWE Champion teased a possible betrayal leading to the proposed match in the Middle East.
Furthermore, the member of the board of directors of TKO Group Holdings is gearing up for his WrestleMania in-ring return. All four contestants in the match have high momentum heading into the match. Therefore, the match is highly unpredictable.
