Just when Edge was on the brink of adding another accolade to his Hall of Fame resume last night, Finn Balor messed it up. As known, the 11-time World Champion squared off against Austin Theory in a United States Championship match on Raw this week. After a decent back-and-forth bout, the crowd in Ottawa started to believe in Edge to reclaim the gold.

However, Finn Balor decided to ruin Rated-R Superstar’s night on his hometurf. After a cheap shot by Balor which obviously went unnoticed by the match referee, Theory retained his title. With this loss, Edge suffered his first-ever pinfall defeat on WWE television in the past 528 days.

The last time Edge was involved in a pinfall loss was against Seth Rollins on the September 10th edition of Friday Night SmackDown in 2021. Quite evidently, WWE has protected the Ultimate Opportunist since his return. But sadly, his days as an active performer are going down very swiftly.

The Master Manipulator once again expressed his desire to retire in Canada after it’s done for once and all. No one is ready for that inevitable night when the Canadian legend hangs up his boots for good. But before that, he has to deal with an over obsessed soul of Finn Balor.

Many feel it’s dragging too much at this point. Edge has been feuding with The Judgment Day for nearly a year now. After last night’s loss in Ottawa, Finn Balor kept unloading down on Edge. He planted the Rated-R Superstar with multiple takes of Coup de grace. With such finish, it’s almost certain that The Irishman wants another shot at the original leader of The Judgment Day.

There’s a belief going around that their final showdown can be inside Hell in a Cell at WrestleMania in Los Angeles. As been a known fact, that sadistic structure is infamous for culminating personal affairs in WWE. Also, Fightful Select has confirmed that WWE heavily considered for The Demon persona of Finn Balor to return at one point.

That point in time was the Royal Rumble. However, due to Edge’s filming project, everything got nixed. But, they can still give a chance at The Showcase of the Immortals. However, there are some people within WWE who are strongly against the idea of having The Demon over Balor’s current gimmick in The Judgment Day. Time will tell whether they’ll go beyond those minute detailing to pull the trigger on this one.
