Eric Bischoff is a WWE Hall of Famer and a former professional wrestling executive, and promoter. He is best known for his time as the president of World Championship Wrestling (WCW), where he oversaw the company’s rise to become a major competitor to the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in the late 1990s.
Bischoff’s known for his several controversial comments, and he loves taking shots and sharing his thoughts on the ongoing situations in the industry, but recently he gave some bold predictions regarding the war between AEW’s Dynamite and WWE’s NXT. Both of the brands have been in a rating war in which AEW has been victorious most of the time. But the WWE Hall of Famer has some bold predictions regarding the futures of both companies.
Recently, on the ‘83 weeks with Eric Bischoff‘ podcast, he said –
“At this point, NXT is probably going to deliver more ratings than Dynamite does by mid-summer, if the focus of your product is match quality at the expense of legitimate, well-constructed, disciplined storytelling and character development, then you’re going to appeal to an audience that is never going to grow.“
A few months ago, when AEW was in head-to-head competition with NXT, they beat them when it came to ratings, but now AEW is struggling to hit even 1 million lately. The last time AEW crossed the 1 million mark was on September 21, 2022. However, Tony Khan has stated that with so many talented wrestlers on the roster, he is sure that they will increase the quality of their product.
WWE NXT is a professional wrestling television program that is produced by WWE and broadcast on the USA Network. It features the up-and-coming wrestlers from WWE‘s developmental territory and has given many talented superstars to the main roster, like Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Bayley.
