“This Brock Lesnar is a completely different” – Eric Bischoff is excited to see the Beast Incarnate back ahead of SummerSlam 2022

Eric Bischoff talks about Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns rivalry

This past Friday on SmackDown, Brock Lesnar broke down the doors to Roman Reigns’ Island of Relevancy. Reigns was hailed and attacked by his former foe after winning the match against Riddle and keeping the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. When Lesnar returned and confronted his WrestleMania 38 rival, he startled both The Tribal Chief and the Minneapolis crowd.

The champion accepted the handshake he offered with his right hand and extended it. Following a few F5s from The Beast, the entire Bloodline was lying on their backs a little while later.

At this year’s SummerSlam, WWE has scheduled a Last Man Standing contest between the two superstars. The Undisputed Universal Championship will be on the line, and Lesnar will be motivated to topple Reigns to get revenge for what happened at WrestleMania.

Eric Bischoff recently talked about why he thinks WWE should hold another Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar fight, why he likes the idea, and other topics in an interview.

He said, “I can’t wait to see it. I know they’ve wrestled seven times or whatever it is – seven, eight, 20, whatever. It doesn’t matter. If he’s gonna come back as the same old Brock – the man killer, one dimensional, no promos, go out and eat people and spit them out, go home – it’s not gonna do a thing for me.’”

We’ve seen that guy. A lot of him. This is not that guy. This Brock Lesnar is a completely different Brock Lesnar in many respects. He’s a different character. He’s having more fun when he goes out there. He’s not relying on Paul [Heyman]. He’s cutting a lot of his own promos. He’s coming to the ring looking and feeling like the Brock Lesnar that I know.”

For a few weeks, Roman Reigns was absent from SmackDown. This comes after he agreed to a new contract that limits the number of dates he can work. The world titles aren’t getting enough exposure because he presently controls both of them and only occasionally appears on SmackDown and even less frequently on RAW.

Reigns vs. Lesnar was probably not initially planned for this year’s SummerSlam’s initial matchup, according to recent sources. Randy Orton was supposed to face Roman Reigns at SummerSlam, according to a rumor on Fightful Select. However, Orton is suffering from an injury and will likely be sidelined for some time.
