WWE has been going through an interesting phase lately, as several contracts are reportedly on the brink of expiration. It has made the Stamford-based company strive to offer them lucrative deals to prevent them from getting lured by other promotions. With the free agency season peaking, it seems the efforts have started paying off as Zelina Vega has penned a new deal with the company.

PWInsider recently reported that the former Queen’s Crown Winner has been locked into a multi-year contract. Fans should rest assured that the Latino superstar will continue gracing their screens for years to come. However, the exact length of her contract remains unknown.

Zelina Vega’s journey began with WWE in 2017. Since then, she has remained a staple product, getting featured in several roles. Vega was briefly released in 2020 after WWE changed its third-party platform policy. The 33-year-old was unwilling to let go of her Twitch channel and, hence, was cut off from the roster. 

Since her debut, she has evolved a lot, from being the manager of Andrade El Idolo to an active in-ring performer. As part of LWO, she received the biggest standout moment of her career. She wrestled the Eradicator, Rhea Ripley, for the Women’s World Title at Backlash in Puerto Rico. It was a heroic moment for her as she saw her hometown audience cheering her name.

Wrestling fans react to the news of Zelina Vega signing a new contract with WWE

Fans were delighted after they received the news of Zelina Vega getting retained by WWE. The former LWO member has been one of the prominent female figures on Friday Night SmackDown. Most notably, many fans stated how she has improved considerably in recent years in terms of her acting as well as wrestling skills.

Meanwhile, others went on to appreciate her by calling her an underrated wrestler. Moreover, many even speculated that her signing a new WWE contract could be a sign of her husband, Malakai Black making his return. The reactions can be seen below:

Many fans have predicted big things coming her way which might even be a World Title reign. So far, things remain unknown about how the WWE creative might proceed with her much-awaited monster push. For now, Vega has seemingly silenced many doubters who raised questions about her potential.

She was recently involved in a big Holiday Havoc match on SmackDown. Vega teamed up with big stars like Bianca Belair, Shotzi, and ‘Michin’ Mia Yim as they faced Damage CTRL. She was also part of a memorable segment where she got splattered with a pie and received poison mist from Asuka.
