Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar was the second match of the night, with a thunderous crowd waiting for both men. The match started with Cody Rhodes trying to get the upper hand on Brock Lesnar as he jumped Lesnar even before the match started. However, this did not work out well for Rhodes, as Lesnar regained control very soon.
For the majority of the match, Brock Lesnar was destroying Rhodes as he threw him around. However, even after multiple suplexes, Cody Rhodes refused to go down and got up every time. This pissed off Lesnar even more, and the attacks got even more visceral.
Cody Rhodes came back into the game when he managed to push Lesnar into an exposed turnbuckle, which took The Beast down. He then put Lesnar into his own submission move, the Kimura Lock. This took everything out of Lesnar, and Rhodes got control of the match.
After three dangerous Cross-Rhodes, The American Nightmare was finally able to conquer The Beast Incarnate. The crowd was completely invested in the event the entire time and supported their hero. Even after the match, the audience gave a standing ovation to Rhodes.
Brock Lesnar also showed his respect for Cody Rhodes as he shook his hand and hugged him in the middle of the ring. Lesnar then raised Rhodes’ hand, indicating a passing of the torch moment for the next generation’s biggest star. Fans online were also reacting to every spot the entire time as the two men continued to destroy each other.

It appears as though Cody Rhodes finally overcame the odds and got his win over Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. Lesnar has been a legend and one of the top stars for over two decades. Therefore, a show of respect from someone like Brock toward Cody Rhodes means a lot more.
Interestingly, Brock Lesnar won his first WWE Championship against The Rock almost 21 years ago at SummerSlam 2002. Ever since, he went on to have a Hall of Fame-worthy career. Therefore, fans know how valuable a show of admiration from Brock Lesnar is to anyone, including Cody Rhodes.
