Nearly four years after his epic return to WWE at the Royal Rumble, Edge coming out to Metalingus as the 21st entrant still remains one of the greatest moments in pro-wrestling history. However, the same subject has sparked a row among the fans. A few hours ago, WWE uploaded a video pertaining to the 25 best Royal Rumble surprise entrants on their YouTube channel. And Edge had 11 moments ahead of him.

The fact that the company pulled some strings and downplayed The Rated-R Superstar’s moment is something the fans can’t stand. Despite him not winning the match, it was surreal out there. The doctors told Adam he would never be able to do it again. However, even after getting his neck surgically repaired, Edge did not stop believing. And nine years after he formally announced his in-ring retirement, the 11-time World Champion was back.

The Minute Maid Park erupted in rhapsody. None of them could believe that Edge was actually back. Once he entered the ring, the current AEW Superstar dished out some spears. He also had a little run-in with AJ Styles. Not only that, Edge joined forces with his former Rated-RKO comrade, Randy Orton. Albeit their alliance didn’t last long, they took the fans down memory lane.

Once Orton was about to turn his back on Edge, the latter was cognizant and adroitly avoided a catastrophe. He then eliminated The Viper only to be thrown out by Roman Reigns later on. The returning superstar did not get the job done but certainly gave the WWE Universe a moment to cherish for the rest of their lifetime.

Fans have expressed their scorn for WWE’s tactics against Edge

As mentioned earlier, the fans are outraged at WWE’s decision to not feature Edge’s return in at least the top 5 spots. Most of them said they respect John Cena‘s MSG return, which bagged the pole position, but argued that Edge deserved to be in that place.

A fan even said that WWE treated Edge poorly just because he left for AEW. Some folks, being ultra-cognizant of the rumors, said that his return was not entirely a shock, as reports spoiled it.

One went on to say that he was surprised WWE even put Edge on that list, as they usually don’t feature their ex-guys. Some fans also bashed the company for Becky Lynch‘s inclusion in the third spot, and Edge still had eight steps in between.
