Veteran Canuck Natalya drew number 1 with a returning Naomi in this year’s Women’s Royal Rumble match. Bayley came out next and eventually went on to outclass 29 other women. At 5, reigning Impact Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace walked in through the proverbial Forbidden Door and went straight after a familiar foe in Naomi. Bayley’s Damage CTRL ally Asuka entered at 7, and the two started working in tandem.
Bayley threw out Indi Hartwell to mark the first elimination of the night. Raw’s Pitbull, Ivy Nile, came out next and began muscling her counterparts. Bianca Belair came in at 10. The woman who followed her was Kairi Sane. And the Damage CTRL members ganged up on Belair, lasting for a short time. And they then threw Candice LeRae out.
Just then, Tegan Nox entered into a tepid reaction. Rapid eliminations followed as Nox threw out Natalya and Bayley made light work of The Girl with the Shiniest Wizard. Kairi Sane bowed out next, followed by Asuka, leaving Bayley as the lone Damage CTRL survivor. Chelsea Green was out next, and she was in jubilation for lasting more than 5 seconds this year.
Bianca Belair then eliminated Jordynne Grace. At 15, Piper Niven entered, who saved Green from getting thrown out. Later on, Nia Jax stormed in and started clearing the ring. Becky Lynch was number 21, and she brought the energy with herself.
At 28, Jade Cargill made her WWE debut to a huge pop. She left everyone startled by throwing Nia Jax over the top rope. And Liv Morgan was number 30. It went down to Bayley, Jade Cargill, and Liv Morgan. After a topsy-turvy tussle on the ring apron, Bayley punched her ticket to WrestleMania 40.
WWE fans extol Bayley’s herculean effort at the Royal Rumble
As evident from the crowd response, the fans are extremely satisfied with the match result. They believe Bayley was long overdue for such a momentous triumph. Reactions have poured in and the social media is repleted with a ton of amusing responses.
Some of them have already started manifesting for Bayley’s WrestleMania showdown with Iyo Sky. It would take an on-screen angle to justify the turn however. Most of the reactions evinced how much Triple H listens to his fans. And Bayley’s victory is the epitome of it.
With The Role Model heading to WrestleMania 40, the fans are eagerly anticipating her face turn. Some folks seemed upset with WWE not crowing Jade Cargill as the one. She hung in there and went out at the penultimate spot. Overall, almost everyone is grateful for Bayley’s watershed moment.
