In the history of WWE, the rivalry between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Vince McMahon is considered one of the greatest. The chemistry between the two was amazing. Therefore, fans continue to fondly remember it years after the two went their separate ways. This week marks the 25th anniversary of an iconic segment between the two. Fans reacted to the segment from the hospital where Austin dressed up as a doctor to attack Mr. McMahon.
In the segment on Monday Night Raw, McMahon lay on a hospital bed as he was supposed to get surgery on his leg. However, as the medical staff got ready, a familiar voice from the background said, “I’ll take it from here, nurse,” as fans saw the Rattle Snake come into the frame wearing masks and medical equipment. To McMahon’s shock, Austin immediately jumped on him and started beating him with everything he could see.
This is where the iconic scene comes from, where Austin hits McMahon with a steel bed pan in the head. The hilarious segment lives on in the minds of wrestling fans. The two had a rivalry that would define Stone Cold Steve Austin as the greatest anti-hero that the company had ever seen. Despite being out of active competition for over 20 years, Austin still continues to be one of the biggest names in the industry.

The popularity of Steve Austin is not new to anyone. He is on the list of the top 5 greatest wrestlers of all time for almost all wrestling fans. Therefore, numerous segments from Austin’s time at WWE are iconic. Due to life-threatening injuries, Stone Cold had to retire in 2003. He had never wrestled after that for 19 years. He shocked the world and had a spectacular match against Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38.

Steve Austin would later say that he was proud of this match and had a lot of fun wrestling Kevin Owens. Owens would also go on to say that that match was one of the highlights of his career. He said it was a dream for many to wrestle Austin, and the fact that he got to do it was pretty amazing. There will never be another superstar like Austin in the WWE or in professional wrestling.
