“Traitor!!!!” – WWE Universe shocked after Santos Escobar turns heel on his idol Rey Mysterio on SmackDown 

This week’s episode of SmackDown witnessed the battle between Bobby Lashley and Carlito. The match, filled with hard-hitting action, showed the All-Mighty’s heel side. After the match fans witnessed Rey Mysterio saving Carlito from a vicious assault. This led to one of the most shocking turn of events as Santos Escobar turned on the legendary luchador.

Bobby Lashley was able to capture victory after the Street Profits decimated the LWO at ringside. Then, Montez Ford managed to stun Carlito with an enzugiri. Lashley, picking up the opportunity, speared him to pick up the win. What happened after that became the highlight of the night.

After his victory, Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits unloaded an assault on Carlito. Santos Escobar, who was there at the ringside, was simply staring. Suddenly, Rey Mysterio emerged with a steel chair, making Lashley and Profits flee. The WWE legend quarreled with Santos Escobar over why he wasn’t saving Carlito.

The 39-year-old excused his action by saying that Carlito isn’t “la familia.” This angered Rey, who pushed away Santos to look after Carlito. This proved to be the breaking point of the former NXT superstar. As a result, Santos Escobar gave Rey Mysterio a running forearm on the back, which caused the latter to slap him in return.

Once both superstars were on the apron, Santos pushed Rey into the ring post. This made him fall leg-first on the steel steps. Infuriated, Santos dropped the steel steps, sending unbearable pain to his idol. The WWE Universe were left baffled as to what they witnessed on SmackDown.
