WWE’s tour of Mexico saw them host two house shows in the nation throughout the previous weekend. The Mexican stars, Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar, competed in those live events, giving the fans a treat to watch. Escobar shared pictures from their Mexico tour on Twitter with a caption thanking the Mexican crowd for the love.

The selfie shared by Santos Escobar shows him, and Rey Mysterio in the airport. While the former looked pretty confident while clicking the photo, Rey is behind him, hiding his face with his right hand. His eyes and nose were visible to the viewers, and his efforts to hide the rest of his face looked successful. As they were about to board their flight, Santos wrote, “L. W. O. out. GRACIAS MÉXICO” stating his regards to his hometown.

The Master of 619 has always kept his face hidden during WWE promotions and shows for his lucha libre legacy. But there have been instances when Mysterio has been seen unmasked and has freely revealed his identity to the world. His time in WWE has also seen him get unmasked while securing his identity while covering his face right after his opponent unmasks him.

A recent example of it came last year when The Miz unmasked him on Raw. Therefore, Mysterio’s recent picture captured the attention of the fans and has been making the rounds on the internet.

Escobar will be facing The Ultimate Underdog next week on the upcoming episode of SmackDown. The two LWO members have qualified for the United States Invitational Finals after winning their respective fatal-four way matches on SmackDown. Either of the stars will get a chance to face Austin Theory for his US Championship in the coming future.

WWE’s live shows in Mexico during the previous weekend saw the LWO members receiving love. To return the favor, Santos Escobar shared a picture of him and an unmasked Rey Mysterio near their flight. The WWE Universe reacted to the picture and expressed their astonishment.

While Mysterio’s unmasked look still amazes fans, it has not been the same during his time in WCW. He spent a lot of time wrestling in that company without his mask after he lost a matchup. WWE stars have also tried to make him unmask but have been unsuccessful in showing his clear face to the audience for the sake of his lucha libre legacy.
