Lacey Evans looks to be departing from the WWE soon. Her recent posts on social media have hinted that her stint at the company is nearing its end. Furthermore, the 33-year-old’s bio has been updated to “FKA WWE Superstar” which gives a major inkling about his departure.
According to rumors, Evans filed a trademark for her original name. Since then, the army veteran has started posting cryptic messages online indicating her departure. On her most recent post on X (formerly known as Twitter), she uploaded a GIF that read, “Roger- How many days left??”
There is no official confirmation yet as to whether Lacey’s contract expired or if she was released. It would be shocking to see her leave, considering the promotion once pushed her to the main event level. Moreover, Evans had previously worked alongside the likes of Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch.
The former NXT superstar was called up to the main roster in 2019. Her Southern Belle gimmick was well received among fans and critics. During that run, she main-evented a premium live event when she teamed with Baron Corbin to face Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch at that year’s Extreme Rules.
Fans react to Lacey Evans’ possible departure
Lacey Evans has had a disappointing run in the WWE. Fans had once considered her to be the future main event star of the Women’s division. But injuries and frequent persona changes did not help the 33-year-old’s case at all. Recently, her army veteran character was heavily criticized by Hall Of Famer Sgt. Slaughter.
Despite Evans being backed by backstage officials, she rarely received any crowd reactions. Therefore, many were pleased when she seemingly confirmed her departure from the company. You can check out the reactions here:
After Ronda Rousey, Evans may become the latest name to leave the company. Her last on-screen appearance was on the June 23 episode of SmackDown. It came in a losing effort against Charlotte Flair. Besides Lacey’s in-ring work, her opinions on sensitive issues such as autism and ADD received heavy backlash from users online.
