The Prince hasn’t forgotten the last time John Cena showed up during his supposed contract signing in 2021. On the July 31st edition of SmackDown, Finn Balor was set to sign on the dotted line. The segment was held to make his title shot official against Roman Reigns. However, after a blindsided ambush by Baron Corbin, John Cena arrived on the scene. He snatched the contract away and put his own initials instead.

Referring to the exact incident from a couple of years ago, Balor sent a warning to John Cena. Quoting a reply to WWE’s official advertising for Monday Night Raw, the Irishman wrote, “If John Cena shows up again I’m going to be pissed!” Well, it would be safe enough to say that Finn doesn’t need to worry too much this time around. Cena recently made a cameo appearance at Money in the Bank. He’s not expected to be back anytime soon.

This week on Raw, Finn Balor and Seth Rollins will have a contract signing for SummerSlam. As known, The Visionary is slated to defend his World Heavyweight Championship against The Judgment Day’s dagger in Detroit. These men have been going at each other for quite a while now. Last month at Money in the Bank, Rollins retained his title against Balor following a ringside turmoil.

Damian Priest seemingly caught Finn Balor’s attention at ringside, allowing Seth Rollins to stomp Balor’s head for the win. Since then, Finn has been adamant about getting another shot at the World Title. After being at loggerheads with his Judgment Day buddy Damian Priest for weeks, they are finally on the same page. Everything seems fine at the moment, but Priest holding the briefcase with certainty makes the case far more intriguing around Rollins vs. Balor.

Is Finn Balor winning the title at WWE SummerSlam?

Finn Balor battled Seth Rollins in a grueling match at Money In The Bank. He did almost everything right, to the point where it matters most. However, the inaugural Universal Champion hasn’t been able to beat The Visionary. Their upcoming trilogy at The Biggest Party of the Summer could fare out differently. Considering what happened to Balor seven years ago at the same event in Brooklyn, he would love to return the favor on August 5.

Since Triple H’s creative takeover, Finn Balor has restored his footing. He’s been thriving alongside his Judgment Day stablemates. However, the only difference comes when it’s about who has the gold. Rhea Ripley is the Women’s World Champion in her own right. Dominik Mysterio is the brand new NXT North American Champion and Damian Priest holds the Money in the Bank briefcase. Finn badly needs to add a feather to his cap sooner rather than later.

That being said, there’s a slight chance that Seth Rollins might lose his title at SummerSlam. Things could take an unprecedented turn if Finn Balor actually dethrones The Revolutionary, and then Damian Priest cashes in. That’s something that is highly possible, judging by the recent cracks between Balor & Priest.
