WWE legend Rey Mysterio lost his match against Bobby Lashley on SmackDown this week. Following a sequence of outside interference between Street Profits and LWO at ringside, Mysterio’s involvement had to pay the price. Back in the ring, Lashley was lurking, and he drove his shoulder into Rey’s abdomen to silence the United States Champion. And just like that, the All Mighty emerged victorious in his first match since May.

The LWO found themselves outnumbered against Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits, setting up a 6-man tag team match at Fastlane. However, Rey Mysterio hinted at evening the odds by making a phone call to someone else since Cruz del Toro and Joaquin Wilde didn’t have medical clearance to compete.

The creative wasn’t able to come up with plans for The Caribbean Cool. This year at Backlash in Puerto Rico, Carlito arrived at the aid of the LWO. It was then that rumors started to sprout that the former US Champion had inked a deal with WWE. As it seems, the fans don’t have to wait any longer as the 44-year-old is on track to return to Indianapolis.

Is the LWO’s fate going to change at WWE Fastlane?

The way things have gone for the LWO in recent weeks is not good. They’ve been attacked by a dominant trio spearheaded by Bobby Lashley. However, if Lashley is a physical specimen, then Mysterio is the biggest little man in WWE history. So far, the fairytale hasn’t been that jovial for the Rey Mysterio-led group.

However, he just called one of his assumed backups for Fastlane, who’s reportedly going to be Carlito. Saturday might be the night LWO will cherish forever. Within no time, WWE has developed an intriguing rivalry between the two sides. It’s been refreshing to see some underused talents get the chance to shine at a premium live event.

Fastlane has sold out, promising a packed arena for viewers at home. Despite a slow start in its buildup, WWE has gained momentum in the last few weeks. With only five matches announced for the event, Triple H appears to be prioritizing quality over quantity.
