Former WWE Superstar Goldberg is one of the greatest wrestlers to ever lace up the boots. During his prime years, he was truly a force of nature to be reckoned with. Although he was originally a WCW Superstar, he had multiple runs in the WWE. Recently, Goldberg opined on whether his son would also dip his toes in the world of professional wrestling or not.
While speaking on Nothing Left Unsaid, The Myth had multiple weights to get off his shoulders. The Hall of Famer shared that his son doesn’t have the knack to follow in his father’s footsteps and wants to be his own man. Furthermore, Goldberg described how he refrains from being his son’s agent if he ever decides to opt for wrestling.
The one thing he has been true to since he’s been old enough to realize it is that he’s his own man. He’s earned his stripes on his own. He doesn’t want to follow in my footsteps. He wants to destroy them and make his own. That hurts sometimes, but I’m appreciative of it.Goldberg on his son becoming a wrestler
The 2-time Universal Champion claimed that he has conquered all his obstacles to make his name in the wrestling world. So, his son can easily be catapulted to the top thanks to Bill’s resume if he decides to do wrestling. In the same interview, he criticized how the Stamford-based company never gave him the retirement match they promised and took shots at Damage CTRL member Asuka.
The wrestling legend last competed against Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber 2022. The former World Champion failed to recapture the Universal Title and submitted to The Tribal Chief. Since then, it has been rumored multiple times for him to appear in the AEW. However, it seems that the wrestling veteran has finally called it quits following his last run in the WWE.
After years of getting blamed for ending Bret Hart’s career, Goldberg finally apologizes to him
Goldberg wrestled Bret Hart at WCW Starrcade in 1999. Unfortunately, Hart sustained an injury in the match, after which he was forced to end his career. Throughout his career, Bill has been criticized for his wrestling style being unsafe in the ring. However, in the aforementioned interview, the 57-year-old wrestling legend finally apologized to the Canadian wrestler.
The former World Heavyweight Champion stated that he was still a novice in his job when he wrestled the experienced Hitman. Goldberg mentioned how he accidentally kicked Hart’s head, which caused a concussion, resulting in him ending his career. To this date, it still haunts the Oklahoma-born wrestler, and he has admitted to apologizing multiple times over the duration of these years.
The WWE Hall of Famer has taken responsibility for his actions. He added how fortunate he was to wrestle The Excellence of Execution. Still, destiny was not in Hart’s favor. Fast forward to today, and the Canadian legend continues to hold a grudge against Goldberg for the incident. Therefore, it seems highly unlikely that Hart will be looking forward to mending fences with The Myth anytime soon.
