In his heyday, Goldberg was a beast. At least he was presented as one. Having 173 wins on the trot was no joke at a time when The Icon was spearheading WCW Nitro’s ratings warfare against Vince McMahon‘s WWE Raw. However, decades removed, Goldberg, insinuating his differences with Triple H, has bashed WWE for letting “some Japanese girl” axe his undefeated streak.
Speaking on Nothing Left Unsaid, the WWE Hall of Famer went on an unhinged rant. Former Women’s Champion Asuka, whom he referred to as some Japanese girl, went on a streak of her own that was almost five times in length of the one held by the iconic grappler. Goldberg belittled the fact that WWE touted the Damage CTRL member as having the longest winning streak in the company’s decades-long history.
For the record, The Empress of Tomorrow was unscathed for a whopping 914 days from the point she debuted in NXT until losing out to Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34. Interestingly, that was the same year Bill Goldberg received his Hall of Fame induction. As pointed out by the 57-year-old in the aforementioned interview, Asuka’s dreamy run came to a halt while he was back with the company.
Yeah, I can't even remember… 'A-soo-ka' is her name. Some Japanese girl. And they touted her as being the one to have the longest winning streak. he fact that I didn't get along with Paul Levesque (Triple H), which is Vince’s son-in-law, I think had everything to do with it.Goldberg on how WWE took away his undefeated streak
The former Universal Champion also underscored how multiple wrestlers started using the spear when Goldberg got in. While these claims have caught the ire of the WWE Universe, Goldberg brazenly believes his relationship with Vince McMahon‘s son-in-law, Triple H, had everything to do with them.
Goldberg called Vince McMahon “a piece of sh*t” following WWE exit
It’s not been hidden from anyone how vocal Goldberg’s been regarding his abrupt departure from WWE. He even claimed that McMahon snubbed him over a retirement match he promised at one point. As the fans know, the Oklahoma native last competed in WWE at the Elimination Chamber in 2022 against Roman Reigns.
During an interview he did in December last year, Goldberg divulged Vince’s rationale behind doing that match. The ex-WCW Champion wasn’t thrilled about putting The Tribal Chief over until McMahon allegedly agreed to give him a retirement match down the line. However, it simply didn’t happen. And out of exasperation, Bill called Vince “a piece of sh*t.”
Shortly after that, current Raw Superstar Ivar offered to have that one last dance with Goldberg. But it went nowhere. Back when AEW staged their biggest show at Wembley Stadium in August 2023, rumors pertaining to Goldberg’s appearance spread like wildfire. But again, they ended up just being widely disseminated misinformation.
