Cody Rhodes is destined to capitalize on his present run with WWE. Before even making his official return, he's getting some strong contenders to face.

Cody Rhodes has got to be one of the most anticipated WWE returns of all-time. Although he’s not back just yet, the WWE Universe is eagerly waiting for him. Over the last week, WWE has started hyping up his comeback through a promotional video package. The first part of that video ends at Rhodes tearing up his Pectoral muscle right off the bone. It will be continued further and most likely is the way to pave The American Nightmare’s return.

The fans are hoping to get him back as early as possible, and the good news is that he’s being featured on this year’s Royal Rumble poster. This most probably confirms his status for the marquee event. However, before even getting there and marking his television comeback, Cody has someone’s attention. It’s not Seth Rollins, to be clear.

On the most recent edition of Steve Fall’s Ten Count, NXT juggernaut Grayson Waller issued a challenge to Cody Rhodes. Upon being asked about his dream opponent on the main-roster, Waller was quick to name The American Nightmare. The 32-year Australian acknowledged Dusty’s contribution to this business before returning to his kayfabe. Waller then insisted that he’s knocked down that door whose legacy the Rhodes family built.

“The number one guy for me right now is Cody Rhodes. I know he’s hurt right now, but he works out like a demon, and I’m sure he’s ready to go before people know. I want to see him come back down here. His dad built this place, right? This is his dad’s house. Come visit. This is my house now. I moved in. Knock on the door. I’ll open the door for you, wipe your feet, come into my house, and let’s see if you still got it after that injury.”

With the official poster reveal, Cody Rhodes is almost certain to compete at the Royal Rumble this year. As seen recently, the company is heavily promoting his return. That doesn’t seems like just a marketing strategy to sell more merch pieces of Dusty’s baby-boy.

Instead, it pretty much feels like something really huge is in the works for him. Few months back, when Rhodes was actively competing, he was the frontrunner to win this year’s 30-man Royal Rumble match. However, once he got injured and went away, things turned around a bit.

But, there’s still a great chance that Cody Rhodes is eventually going to seize the golden opportunity and win the Royal Rumble match. As stated by himself, he’s here to bestow that WWE Championship on his late, great father Dusty Rhodes. The entire WWE Universe is behind The American Nightmare to fulfill his prophecy and pay tribute to his legendary dad.
