Gunther as NXT UK Champion
Ever since his battle with Ilja Dragunov at NXT Takeover, Gunther has been the epitome of the hard-hitting and physical matches in WWE. Even before joining the main roster, he was a beast back at NXT UK, having held the NXT UK championship for a record 870 days. Gunther has dominated the year 2022, along with giving the WWE universe some of the best and most brutal matches with the likes of Sheamus and Braun Strowman.
In a recent interview with The Dallas Morning News, Gunther talked about his history of physical matches and how he mentally prepares for them. He also stated that this business already demands a lot of physical input, and for battles with superstars like Sheamus and Ilja Dragunov, something more special is required. He also stated that he takes inspiration from the crowd’s reactions to give his heart and soul in the ring and produce some of the finest wrestling matches of all time.
Gunther is currently holding the prestigious intercontinental championship and his reign is standing strong at 220+ days. He has defeated the top WWE superstars like Shinsuke Nakamura, Sheamus, and Braun Strowman to cement himself as a dominant champion. Alongside his Imperial crewmates, Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci, Gunther has become a force to be reckoned with on SmackDown.

According to a recent tweet by a reputable wrestling forum, Brock Lesnar is scheduled to face Gunther at WrestleMania 39. Now, this is a legitimate WWE dream match that wrestling fans would love to see, and it could be the best way to end the undefeated streak of Gunther or even give him his WrestleMania moment. In any case, seeing these brawlers square off on the Grandest Stage of Them All will be a treat for wrestling fans.
WWE is pushing Gunther to be the next megastar or even the face of the business in the coming future. So matches with top stars like Brock Lesnar, Drew McIntyre, and Roman Reigns are inevitable.
